The Global Vipassana Pagoda is a beautifully maintained spiritual landmark near Gorai, Mumbai, admired for its peaceful ambience and grand architecture. It can be reached conveniently by ferry from the Borivali side (Gorai Khadi) or by road through Mira Bhayandar–Uttan. Entry is free, and ample parking is available for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. A café inside serves delicious quick bites at reasonable rates, ideal for a short refreshment break. Visitors are encouraged to maintain cleanliness and decorum within the premises. The pagoda tends to attract larger crowds on weekends, so visiting on weekdays is preferable for a more tranquil experience. Public transport options like MBMT buses and shared rickshaws also make it easily accessible.
Visited the Global Vipassana Pagoda in Gorai with my friends and had a really good experience. The entry is free, and the place is very neat, clean, and well-maintained. Washrooms and drinking water facilities are available, along with a small café for refreshments. A few sections were shut during our visit, but overall the atmosphere was calm and peaceful, especially since we went on a weekday with almost no crowd. To reach the Pagoda, you can take a ferry from Gorai, which costs around ₹100 (return ticket). From Borivali railway station or Borivali metro station, you can take a shared auto to the ferry point. The journey itself was smooth and added to the experience. Overall, a wonderful place to visit for peace, meditation, and beautiful architecture, away from the chaos of the city
I visited Pagoda Place recently and absolutely loved it. The architecture is stunning, and the surroundings are very calm and clean. It’s a great spot for family outings, photography, or just spending some quiet time. The staff were friendly, and the atmosphere felt very refreshing. Highly recommended!
Very beautiful Buddhist temple with very good accessibility from Borivali Railway Station. Boat ride is fun and enjoyable. The Two way ticket price is 100 per person. The ticket is chargeable for any one who is above 2 feet 5 inches. Must visit place when you are in Mumbai.
A place of serenity & tranquility! Incredibly clean, beautiful & peaceful. If only we had more well-maintained places in India such as this... There's a decent food plaza as well. Parking needs to be done a little far from the entrance (~3 mins walk) and rightly so. Also, free entry.
