Birth and Beyond yoga completely changed my pregnancy and birth story for the better. I found Neeru Maam when I was 28 weeks pregnant and had been suffering from pelvic girdle pain. Working with her I was able to stay active until the very end of my pregnancy and have a vaginal birth in the most empowering way possible. To anyone wondering if it is worth it, 1000% yes. This time in your life is imperative to your child’s future health and yours postpartum. The yoga classes benefit your body and spirit while the information classes and meditation classes benefit your mind. I found myself looking forward to class every single day, it was a huge bright spot for my day! My husband loved the fact that Neeru Maam also provided couples Lamaze classes. They gave him some hands on training and confidence that prepped him to make some difficult decisions in the delivery room. All of the knowledge on breathing, core muscles, pain management techniques, and body positioning for optimal baby movement were massively helpful in my birth. I utilized all the knowledge that she had given in class during every phase of my labor. She is patient and understanding, but also firm- all of which are important traits of a good teacher. Looking back the only thing I would change would be to start working with her sooner! I just want to say thank you Neeru Maam, for helping to make me feel empowered and proud of myself for what I was able to accomplish!
I started prenatal yoga in my second trimester, and it has been one of the most grounding and empowering parts of my pregnancy journey. Neeru ma’am’s classes have helped me feel mentally and physically healthier and stronger in my pregnancy journey.
