As a parent, there's nothing more terrifying than watching your child suffer. I'm writing this to share a deeply distressing experience with Dr. Yogesh Mehta's clinic, in the hope that no other family has to go through what we did. The night was a blur of panic as my 14-month-old son battled a dangerously high fever. We tried everything – the prescribed medicine, constant sponging – but his temperature refused to drop. Every passing moment felt like an eternity, and the fear that gripped me was overwhelming. I knew we needed a pediatrician, and we needed one urgently. In that state of desperation, I searched for the soonest available doctor and managed to book an appointment with Dr. Yogesh Mehta through the Practo app for June 7th, 2025, at 7:20 am. It was even Eid, an important festival for our family, but for a father, a son's health comes before anything else. I was clinging to the hope of getting help for my son. Soon after booking, I tried to reach the doctor over the call, but my repeated attempts went unanswered. Later, I received a call from his staff. I explained everything: my son's age, his high fever, and informed despite giving him the medicine our family doctor prescribed and sponging him with a wet cloth, his temperature just wouldn't go down. I was hoping they would understand how serious the situation was. It was particularly disheartening because instead of any compassion or help, the lady staff on the call just told me very simply that Dr. Yogesh Mehta wasn't available and that I should "consult some other doctor." That was it. They didn't offer any other help, didn't suggest an alternative, and didn't seem to care at all about my sick baby. I had a strong feeling the doctor was present at the clinic but seemed unwilling to attend to the case, possibly due to the few Covid cases being reported in Mumbai at the time. It felt like they just wanted to get rid of me. Such behavior is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the professionalism and accountability of the doctor. Patients deserve respectful and timely attention, regardless of the situation. This kind of uncaring attitude, especially when a little baby is sick, is just not right. As a parent, when you're already scared for your child, to be treated with such a lack of concern is truly heartbreaking. We just wanted help, and we got nothing but a cold shoulder. Based on this experience, I absolutely do not recommend this doctor to any parent for their child.
