Our infant granddaughter was transferred by ambulance from the Madison ER to Women & Children due to complications from RSV and Croup. The nursing staff and respiratory therapists did most of the work and they were fabulous at helping our granddaughter get back to better health. The doctors did a good job of explaining her condition, but naturally, the nursing staff does all the work. My only complaint is that the room did not accommodate two adults staying overnight. There was one very narrow couch and two stiff chairs. This meant we were awake for the better part of two days. It would have been so helpful if they could have a recliner chair as well so that we could have had better rest and therefore better able to care for the baby. I would have given five stars if this were the case. If I had a camping cot I would have brought it. And of course, hospital food is absolutely disgusting and unhealthy. But I will say room service is FAST and efficient.
Sweetest staff! Ray and the other young lady at the front are precious! I’ve recently been a patient and joined my best friend here for her MRI appointment. Both times, I saw Ray go out of her way to be kind and have empathy for patients. One lady was obviously very confused regarding where she was supposed to be for her image and Ray treated her like it was Ray’s very own beloved grandmother…redirecting the patient to a different/the right place. Ray came out from around from the glass office and worked with the lady helping her become calm and self assured. It was a blessing to observe how she handled the situation. Ray came out from around the glass to help a couple others including us with our paperwork. The staff in the back were awesome too. Rachel did great on my IV…never felt the stick. Convenient location except the gate for parking doesn’t always cooperate. That is frustrating when cars are lined behind you.
My son’s night nurse was very attentive, friendly, caring and kind. She was good with kids and tried to interact with him so he didn’t feel scared of the medications. The other nurses were standoffish. I wish they offered food as part of the stay like when I gave birth. I also wished staff didn’t have to enter the room as often at night. This way, my son could’ve slept longer without being interrupted. The room was spacious and clean. The couch wasn’t the most comfortable to sleep at. The room had a fridge and a microwave. Our other needs were met. Overall, it was a good experience.
Experience was good. As it was a sleep study it took a while to fall asleep and stay asleep, because the room was warm, the bed was too soft and the pillows were so flat that I had to use four. It took a while for the room to cool down but managed to complete the study. The staff was professional and courteous. There was some laughing in the hall due to a late arrival but otherwise the everything was fine.
I recently had a procedure at Women’s and Children’s hospital and the nurses and staff were very nice and supportive. The nurse that did my IV was the best I had ever had. She was amazing and you could tell she loved what she did. Thank you to all the preop nurses and staff. I had a very good experience. Ms. Annette at the registration desk was also so kind and helpful. .
