Now this definitely a step to modernization. The new BMC office at Malad west is right besides the old one in liberty garden. The premises is big and decorated with flower pots. Has good parking space, although not sure if available for general public. Washrooms in each floor. Pretty clean, and hopefully it stay that way. Some of the latches do not work though. Ground level, there is general inquiry, booth for property and water bill payment. A stationery cum xerox/print out shop. Staff was patient and Clam (surprisingly). Schneider lifts which are clean. What is lacking is dustbin. Considering this place is frequented by people from all walks of life. Notice board, guidance board and way boards are not enough. So pretty much the same chaos is noticed. One doesn't know where to go and what is required to get their work done. It would be great if instructions and boards are clearly marked in all three languages Marathi, Hindi and English. This will reduce the to and fro. Instead of one counter for help and info, it can be increased to 2 at the least, cause this the counter with most amount of rush. My experience, I couldn't accomplish what I came for. But the staff was kind to explain me all the details. My second visit will probably determine it will be a smooth experience or not. Also want to call out a good initiative. They have used cloth donation box. Very thoughtful. If I may suggest please add another donation box for unwanted medicine.
Staff is descent. I like the premises which is covered with trees & plants. I request visitors of this or such office s to talk in a calm, nice manner then you will get nice response. I had good response whenever I visit. I feel s sad to see inappropriate behaviour by visitors & expectations to get work done at rocket speed. Have patience. Respect Govt people.
The building is located at an easily accessible location, offices are spacious and have proper waiting area. There is also parking available, but not sure if it is available for public as well. There are various departments here, Marriage registration, health, birth and death certificate dispatch, pension, water bill, property tax. Sometimes the process takes time but otherwise the staff are quite cooperative.
Old building has been demolished. All the work has been shifted to adjacent 11 story new building. I was here for getting my marriage registered. The clerk was very helpful though he was fed with guiding everyone. Be good to him and he'll help you with all your documents. Make sure you take all original documents with you while visiting.
This is the BMC office for Malad. The marriage certification is done here for PN ward. Though the office starts as early as 9am, the marriage certification work is done between 10:30am & 12:30pm.
